MCDONALD'S
Whilst working at The Marketing Store, I had the opportunity to work on many campaigns for McDonald’s UK and Canada. This included the look and feel for new seasonal and themed menu items, photo shoots, gift cards, new standardised style of digital menu boards across the UK and ideas for experiential promotion for the brand.
GREAT TASTES OF THE WORLD
Great Tastes of the World is a high profile promotional campaign in the McDonald’s calendar year, featuring five burgers inspired by different countries and cultures.
Having tasted the new flavours and researching the inspiration behind each new meal, I was responsible for creating initial concepts and art directing the photo shoots right through to developing logos and final layouts.
The collateral included external banners and posters, menu boards, leaflets and other in-store promotional pieces.
The campaign was very well received by both the client and customers throughout the UK, with McDonald’s consumers returning each week throughout the promotion to try all of the new limited edition flavours.
GIFT CARDS
McDonald’s and McCafé gift cards are very popular in Canada and are given on various occasions throughout the calendar year. The client was keen to create a broad range of cards – from ones that look very premium and smart, to others that were more quirky and fun.
The cards had some nice finishing touches, including spot varnish, foil block and holographic effects.
DEVELOPMENT WORK
On all of the McDonald’s projects, I worked throughout the design process, including original scamps, colour visuals, photo briefs and art direction on the photo shoots, right through to design development and logo design.
